My father was born in Delhi in a religious family, my father′s side of the family were mostly Sikh priests, well respected and were people living a simple life. My father came into the UK in 1979 and was a priest in Barking Gurdwara in East London for approximately 7 years. After which he has opened numerous business in many sector and now is settling down as a priest as he finds peace of mind doing so. |

I come from a Sikh Hindu background. I am not a very religious person myself as I respect the teachings of all religions and beliefs which I think are right but if I was to be called a particular religion I would prefer to be known as a Sikh as I find the teachings on equality and peace taught within Sikhism really appeal to me. More than anything my mother is like god to me. |
